Against the background of climate change and the associated reduction of CO2 emissions, Testrut is now also following the trend and investing in renewable energies - with the use of solar energy. Since spring, a state-of-the-art photovoltaic system has been located on parts of the company's flat roof at the Wesel headquarters Am Schornacker 113. From a bird's eye view, it is obvious that this is an impressive area.

Large, flat and robust - the roof area in Wesel offers just about ideal conditions for a photovoltaic system and now generates a lot of sustainable energy. The goal: to produce green electricity simply and safely - among other things for the 10 planned charging stations for employees' electric vehicles in the company car park. Managing Director Alexander Sator and the entire staff are very pleased that a concrete contribution to environmental and climate protection is also being made here. Because: solar energy is clean and emission-free!

In addition to the direct measures on site, sustainability as a whole is one of the central topics for the trading company. A rethink is already taking place here and much more is being planned.

An investment that pays off: Annual data on the photovoltaic (PV) system

Production volume of electricity via PV: 680,000 kWh / p.a.

Our Schornacker property

- Electricity consumption 2020: 190,000 kWh / p.a.
- est.: Own consumption via PV system: 160,000 kWh / p.a.

Interesting comparison: The average annual consumption of a 5-person household is 5,000 kWh / p.a. - so about 680,000 kilowatt hours of electricity could supply 135 households!

Our environmental contribution
- CO2 emission reduction through PV: 465,300 kg / p.a.
- 10 charging stations / 20 charging points for electric cars in the car park
